Bar Manager / Head Bar

We're on the hunt for a head bartender to join our neighbourhood bar. If you are passionate about good wine, experimentation, fermentation and creating great drinks with carefully sourced local ingredients - read on. As a head bartender, managing a team should come naturally to you - and you’re probably known for your excellent communication skills.

The role is full time, open to any age, gender or nationality. We’d expect you have a few years of experience in a similar role, and are based in Bali or willing to relocate.

Job Details

The head bartender will oversee the running of the bar, from managing the team and ensuring they provide a pleasant customer experience, to serving customers and dealing with some administrative tasks. The head bartender needs to be good at problem-solving, organized, and have excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team, and should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and be proud of providing excellent customer service.

General Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive guest experience through interaction and adherence to the steps of service
    Displaying warmth and hospitality while developing & remembering repeat customers
    Administer purchasing and receiving procedures for all alcohol, food and consumables
    Analyse service quality and customer satisfaction
    Contribute to innovation process within own scope of work
    Implement loss/risk prevention
    Lead team of bartenders and bar back
    Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wines and non-alcoholic beverages
    Understand and analyse spirits, wine & fermentation
    Understand and master cocktail components
    Be up to date with current global industry trends
    Count and take inventory of all beverages and supplies daily
    Send daily sales reports to directors
    Communicate beverage descriptions, specials and information to guests and team members
    Manage compliance with food and beverage hygiene policies and procedures
    Ensuring a clean and orderly facility
    Manage cost and quality controls
    Manage food and beverage operations. Knowledgeable of all food and beverage items in order to make recommendations
    Manage site/outlet and equipment maintenance
    Manage ongoing training
    Conduct staff performance assessment process
